TEACHING  AIMS

Knowledge objects

1. To let the students grasp the new words and be familiar with the text.

2. To make the students know something about Disneyland and its creator---Walt Disney.

3. Let the students get to know Disneyland’s four themes, and Hong Kong Disneyland Which has been opened recently.

Ability Objects

1. To improve students’ ability of getting information through reading.

2. To develop students’ ability of expressing their own opinions in English

3. To train the Ss’ ability of working in pairs, in groups.

Moral Objects

1. Our society is a high scientific society. If you want to be a master of the times, you should step on the society, learn to cooperate with others, learn to create something use their imagination to create things.

2. To enable the Ss to love life and to arouse their life interests.

1. To scan a specific point of information from the text.

 To introduce Walt Disney and his work, cartoon characters and success, Disneyland.

1. a, Show part of Mickey’s picture.

   b, Show some pictures about Walt, Disneyland and amusement.

   c, Ask students to skim the text.

2. According to students’ need, talk about each paragraph by using different ways. (Mickey’ self-introduction, Walt’s personal experience, a cloze test about Disneyland.)

1. a, Guess what the cartoon is.

   b, Learn the words: Walt, Disneyland and amusement.

   c, Find the other new words.

 

2. Find the easiest paragraph, understand each paragraph best by finishing different tasks.

Post-task

1.Draw a conclusion about Walt Disney’s life.

To let the students have a better understanding about Walt.

2. Group role-play.

Suppose you are in charge of one of the four Disney theme parks. Now you are employing a guide. What will you say to him or her?

To get the students to know more about Disneyland, develop the Ss’ communicative abilities and their co-operative abilities.
