Students’ background:  I have 20 students who have great interest in English learning. They have already mastered adjectives in large quantities. They are able to use adjectives properly and correctly. They have already learned frequency adverbs such as always, often. On the other hand, they have no idea of the existence of adverbs of mannerin a sentence.

The teaching/learning objectives:

Knowledge & Skills:

1. Students are expected to know the word-building of different adverbs;

2. Students are expected to use adverbs of manner accurately in their description.

Process & Methods

1. Students are expected to learn to form adverbs in different ways;

2. Students are expected to use adverbs of manner accurately.

Emotions & Attitude:

    1. To remind the students of some special moments in their life.

    2. To let students share experiences with others.

Language focus:

1. The different usage of adverbs and adjectives in sentences;

2. The word-building of adverbs;

3. The descriptions of different actions with different adverbs.

Difficulty:

1. Different word-building of adverbs;

2. Appropriate usage of adverbs.
